Green Terramesh

The Green Terramesh ® is a modular system used for soil reinforcement, with  green frontage, to the frontage has a biodegradable mat of coconut and straw or a mattress with seeds; it is manufactured from double twisted soft steel wire mesh with double coating from Zn 95% + Al 5% or Zn 90% + Al 10% alloy and ith PVC or polyamid coating.

The system units are delivered either opened or folded in bales. Bales are compressed and bound together at the factory for easy transport and handling.

The folded units are unfolded and placed on a solid horizontal surface. The unfolded units are stretched and pressed to get to the final form. Fixing is done with steel rings coated with an alloy of 95% Zn + 5% Al and is necessary to use a manual or pneumatic tool to fix the rings. The maximum distance between rings must not exceed 150-200 mm along the edges that must be fixed. Adjacent units are also connected with fixing rings.

Assembly and installation phases


Green Terramesh system consists of pre-assembled units which reduce the installation time and give an aesthetic frontage and a reinforcement without discontinuities (without joints) creating a complex system composed of wire mesh at the facade and geogrids.

The reinforced soils are structures designed to stabilize slopes and embankments through reinforcing elements resistant to stretching that change the properties of lands in which they are installed. In case of stability structures, the earth reinforcement becomes an alternative to the concrete retaining walls. In addition, it has a lower impact on the environment and is also convenient from an economic perspective. A high flexibility of the reinforced soil structures allows its use in weak soils, being able to deform in the same time with the foundation. This type of structure has a higher seismic resistance. In case of slopes and embankments stabilization, the main advantage is minimizing the use of granular soils having good geotechnical characteristics and the possibility of using soils with weaker characteristics; thus results considerable savings. It is always very important to check the stability, using the real geotechnical data of the soils.
